Relevant guidance and legislation

This section relates to the guidance published to accompany the HLTA standards as they were revised in 2007. Please take the guidance on Standards 13, 15 and 16 as a guide only and discuss with your teacher colleagues what is relevant for your school. Some links will not be successful and others will automatically take you to more current information. You will have the opportunity to do an activity on 13, 15 and 16 on Day 1 of your training.

The latest publications from the Department for Education, including statutory guidance and departmental advice, should all be available on gov.uk after December 2013.

Publications listed below are all pre May 2010 after which the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) became the Department for Education (DfE) and have now been transferred to the National Archives. However often Google can be a quicker route to the information you need. As a general guide you should check with your colleagues in school to see what your school is currently using for curriculum delivery and pastoral care and the health and wellbeing of the pupils in our care.
